A week ago the Islanders dominated the Lightning in a 5-1 win on Long Island. Tonight the Islanders got dominate by the Lightning and lost 4-1.

The Islanders were out-shot, out-hustled, and out-hit throughout the entire game. They followed up a great home-stand with a very uninspired effort in their first road game of the season.

Ryan Malone started off the scoring and gave the Bolts the lead on the powerplay at 16:32 of the first period. Vincent Lecavalier then gave the Lightning a two-goal lead with a pretty wrist-shot over the glove of Islanders goalie Al Montoya at 15:14 of the second period. Steven Stamkos then gave the Bolts a three-goal lead at 5:25 of the third period.

Michael Grabner got the Islanders on the board about two minutes later when he streaked down the left-wing and put a wrist-shot over the right shoulder of Lightning goalie Mathieu Garon.

Brett Clark finished off the scoring and made it 4-1 Lightning at 16:59 of the third period.

Al Montoya made 30 saves on 34 shots. Garon made 17 saves on 18 shots.

Mark Streit led all places in ice time with 24:06 played. Victor Hedman led the Lightning in ice time with 21:44 played.

The Islanders are now 3-2. The Lightning are now 2-3-2.

The Islanders next game is Saturday night in Sunrise against the Florida Panthers at 7:30 Eastern.

The Lightning play the Buffalo Sabres Saturday night in Tampa at 7:00 Eastern.
