The Islanders were shut out on home ice by the Winnipeg Jets 3-0. Rick DiPietro was in goal for the Islanders for the second straight game, and got his second straight loss.

New York started off strong, but DiPietro let in the first shot he faced when Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic let Jets forward Evander Kane walk right in to score at 4:21 of the first period.

The Islanders had a lot of pressure in the second period but could not get one of their 19 shots past Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelic who scored the shut out.

Johnny Oduya and Alexander Burmistrov scored the second and third goals for the Jets. Burmistrov's was an empty net goal.
