Referendum Was Rejected But Isles Fans Must Stick Together
Today the residents of Nassau County were told to vote on whether the county should borrow $350 million to build a new Coliseum and to keep the Islanders in Nassau County until 2045. Today the residents of Nassau County voted NO.
Now Charles Wang and Ed Mangano must decide what their next move is to keep the Islanders in Nassau County and they must do it quickly. However, Wang decided that he did not want to discuss anything yet. Instead he said that he is "disappointed" and "heartbroken".
Charles, you are not the only one.
Tonight all Islanders fans feel heartbroken. We may be losing our beloved team. That is something we all cannot bear, but unfortunately is a very real possibility.
There is still a chance to save the Islanders, though that possibility doesn't look to good.
Tonight was a terrible night for the Islanders and the fans, but we all must stick together. Remember, no matter what happens, "We're all Islanders."
