New York, NY- Yes Islanders fans you can now relax for a little, Matt Moulson will stay on the Island for three more years. As the team and the winger announced at 4:41 p.m. today that an agreement to terms on a contract were reached.

Moulson, who was left on the scrap-heap by the Los Angeles Kings will now have a home on the Island until 2014, and fans must be overjoyed with this move.

The 27-year-old, Cornell University graduate has contributed a whole lot more then goals to this squad.He brings veteran leadership, fire and heart to a very young Islanders team.

Moulson, also has some impressive numbers having 29 points (17 goals, 12 assists) in 49 games in his second season with the team. Last year, he impressed by leading the team with 30 goals, while establishing a career highs in assists (18), points (48) and games played.

Now Moulson can concentrate on playing with a line that features himself, John Tavares and very talented P.A. Parenteau, who are just beginning to make an impact on the ice for New York.

So yes Islanders fans you can relax, all the rumor mills this time on Moulson were just that rumors. You can keep our Moulson jersey out and wear it proudly, cause the winger that was on the scrap heap now has a place to score goals for three more years.
